Terms & Conditions.

It is perfectly natural to feel nervous or unsure before starting therapy. It’s also normal to have lots questions - you may find many of these answered on the ‘Your Questions’ page. And you’re most welcome to have a chat with me to find out more about how therapy could help you. This is completely free and without obligation. You can get in touch by phone, email or simply by completing the form at the bottom of this page.

Once we have agreed to begin therapy together, we will both sign a Therapeutic Contract. This is an agreement between therapist and client. It clearly sets out what is expected of both sides, including rights, obligations, terms, fees, and conditions. This includes the following Terms & Conditions:

My approach

My approach is client-centred, which means that our sessions are tailored to most effectively meet your needs. I have developed an approach called the B.E.S.T. Method – this combines breathwork, emotional release exercises, somatic movement practices, and therapeutic interventions. I am qualified to provide Integrative Psychotherapy, Grief Counselling, Clinical & Medical Hypnotherapy, Hypno-oncology, CBT, stress management, yoga, meditation (including mindfulness), NLP and coaching.

Fees

The cost is £60 per session. I review my fees on an annual basis and will give at least 30 days’ notice of any intended changes.

I offer discounts for students or those on a low wage.

Payment

You can pay by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Existing clients can pay either in advance or at the time of the session. I require payment of 50% of the session fee for new clients in advance of your first session.

Sessions

Each session lasts 60 minutes. Please arrive in good time but not too early, to preserve both your confidentiality and that of my other clients. Please note, if you turn up late for your appointment, I will not be able to extend the duration of your session past its scheduled finish.

Location

Appointments will be held in a suitable, private location. This may include; in my private consulting room, at one of the therapy or wellness centres with which I am associated, by video meeting (such as Zoom or Skype) or over the telephone. Home visits will only be possible in exceptional circumstance and with prior agreement.

Cancellation

I will always do my best to reschedule your appointment. If you need to cancel, change or postpone your session, I require a minimum 48 hours’ notice. Any changes outside of this period may require payment of the full session fee.

Contact between sessions

Contact between sessions should be only for the purpose of arranging or rearranging appointments. I would prefer for this to be handled by email or phone call. To maintain your confidentiality, I will not acknowledge you outside of our sessions, unless first acknowledged by you.

Reviews & Termination

We will review your therapy at regular intervals during our time working together. This is to map progress, discuss any issues or concerns, and decide on the direction of future sessions. We will also undertake a review at your final session when our work together has concluded. However, you can terminate therapy at any time and for whatever reason.

Holidays

I will take time off from my practice at times during the year, for training or holidays. I will give you advance notice and do my best to minimise any disruption to the schedule of your sessions.

Drugs and alcohol

In order for us to work together safely and effectively, you are required to attend sessions free from the effects/influence of alcohol or drugs.

Your Data / GDPR

I may keep notes of our sessions. These, along with any forms your complete or personal information you provide are kept securely in a locked filing cabinet and for a period of time in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) legislation.

Confidentiality

The therapeutic relationship is a confidential one and anything discussed during your sessions will be treated in the strictest confidence, except in the following circumstances when I may have to breach confidentiality:

  • If your safety or safety of others is at risk.

  • Discussing the work with my supervisor and will only refer to you by initial or first name.
